Ice and Fire: A Novel by Andrea Dworkin, Andrea Dworkin

5.0

Oh, Andrea (I didn't know you, but I think of you as Andrea) so brilliant, so defamed. You were one of the greatest writers, but you put activism before literature, your love, and the world burned you for that. Abhorred. Out of print. You would have been spoken of with Jean Genet and Toni Morrison, but you said an unacceptable thing: that women aren't a commodity. You wrote this book, and it was called pornographic so that "hypocrite" could be added to the slander. In the broken world, so beautifully you burned.
