Huh, the bloom fell off the rose for this series. I enjoyed the final book but definitely felt like I was slogging through it just to finish an obligation. Not sure why.. something about this last book felt too claustrophobic, the way all the action is confined to the city under siege in two days. Also just way too many set piece battles and puzzles, another straying of the moth towards the candle that is Harry Potter. It was nice to see all the characters finally get All Grown Up but also somewhat implausible. The book just felt like an obligation, both for the author and the reader.
