The Devil's Advocate by Steve Cavanagh

5.0

Eddie Flynn does it again! Another 5 star read for the lawyer with more tricks up his sleeve than a magician.

This time Eddie and his newly formed team has to defend a young man and save his life by proving his innocence. The cards are all stack against them, from a town who isn't welcoming them in, to the police who is more dirty than the criminals, to the district attorney who is more involved to the cases he convict that he should.

A serial killer is hiding in plain sight and the whole town is more than happy to accuse a young black man than to look into what really happened the night the young woman was murdered.

This is a heavy book, it deals with racism, corruption and it shows that bad side of a close minded small town.

As in all of the books in the series, the ones I have read that is, the turns and twists are keep on coming and I couldn't figure out who the real killer was. If you like murder mysteries with focus on the trial, you won't want to miss this one.
