Lethal Legacy by Irene Hannon
4.0
Although her father's "suicide" case has been closed for several months, Kelly Warren still believes it was murder.
When another clue is discovered, she returns to the detective who managed the case, but he is on vacation. Fortunately for Kelly, Cole Taylor is working and agrees to hear her out. As he continues to look into a few things go for the attractive red-head, Cole realizes that that not only is Kelly persistent, she may very well be right.
Cole and Kelly continue to look for clues while the true killer begins to sweat. The two draw closer as friends, with the expectation for more, once the case is concluded.
I like that Hannon made the characters unwilling to mix business and pleasure. This allowed Cole and Kelly time to get to know one another before they became involved romantically.
I did figure out who the real killer was before it was revealed in the story, but there were definitely some curve balls that I didn't see coming in the clues. In the end, justice is meted out and those who have suffered are comforted.
A good read overall. It also reminded me to read more of this author's works.
