Tried and DNFd the first book in this series a few months ago. Decided to try again on a recent release but I still feel the same as my initial impression: immature writing. The dialogue is mildly adolescent and the FMCs thoughts and actions do not match. One moment she’s angry at him, the next she’s teasing him. One moment she’s telling herself she doesn’t need him, the next he’s got his fingers buried inside her demanding she scream his name. The pendulum swing in her emotional reactions are extreme to the point of ridiculousness. And neither character can get through a scene without a sexual thought of the other. The “he’s so hot” - “she’s so beautiful” every other page is trite and tiresome. Especially considering I only made it a third of the way through the book. I’ve given it two attempts now but I won’t be reading anymore by this author.
