This was absolutely amazing. Carissa Broadbent never lets me down. I absolutely adored Mische in the first two books so I was so excited that she was going to be the FMC of this duet.
Her story is absolutely heartbreaking. I thought the interludes at the beginning of each part were amazing at telling us her backstory. Her internal struggle and her path of realisations and healing has been done so incredibly well and I cannot wait to continue reading her journey in the next book.
The setting was so immersive, the descent to the underworld I thought was so cool and well done. We learnt more about the gods too. The worldbuilding was done brilliantly, it wasn't confusing or heavy handed or info dumpy.
And the romance!!!! Carissa knows how to balance her romance with her fantasy. It doesn't take over, it doesn't feel forced nor does it feel like it's smut for the sake of smut. The emotional aspects to the romance was absolutely phenomenal. I adore Mische and Asar and prefer them and their romance to Oraya and Raihn.
This book is my fave of the crowns of Nyaxia. Absolutely phenomenal. Perfection. No critiscm or negative things to say at all. She got it so right.
And that ending!!!!!!🤯🤯🤯
