The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead
4.0
As an Australian, I can't say I have much background knowledge in American history aside from the VERY basics, so when I saw this book, I thought it sounded like a very interesting read. It turned out to be a difficult and eye-opening story on just how people of colour were treated in America. The book certainly didn't hold back in using vivid descriptions on just how bad life was for people back then, and for that, I'm glad I read the story of Cora.
