It’s fine. I was excited to read a spicy genderbent sugar plum fairy but I ultimately found the characters dull and the pacing too slow for what’s happening. Heightened action was sometimes  stalled with a suddenly necessary conversation and dialogue was often interrupted with multi page narrative or inner monologue. I kept having to force myself to read it and finally asked myself why.
