So much pain. Why
Reading this ATatN and this one back to back in New Year's eve was de definitely an experience.
I have not read a book with so much death in a while. Meaning not just the main characters but, the general knowing on Thousand of deaths. I May not have know all of them but I still felt the stakes.
One of my favorite little things of the book, was the use of the names The Nightbringer/Keenan/King of no name, Helena Aquilla/ Bloom Shrike, Elias/The Soul Catcher Laia of Serra/? And more. I read somwhere that Sabaa Tahir said, the specific names of the characters have a deep meaning, but I just thought that's just what writers said. But no. This book proved me that it was an intentional choice. It not only served as a narrative device throught the books, but also as an asset to create character development.
And speaking of character development, Laia of Serra may have become one of my favorite female protagonists ever. I DONT CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINK. IS HE A LITTLE ANNOYING SOMETIMES? YES AND WHAT ABOUT IT? She has gone through so much, and she has made ro many mistakes but she gets though them everytime because she is good and wants to change things for her people. I love her, I can't wait to read what other painful things the author puts her throught next *sarcastic tone* Please let Elias and my girl be happy please.
