The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
5.0
I devoured the first two books in this series without knowing the last one wasn’t out yet. After realizing that, I nearly cried.
Like lying in the floor, bawling my eyes out, crazy, hysterical, crying. That's what this book and series as done to me!
How am I supposed to wait two months for the next book? I know lots of people have waited much longer, but you see, I was under the illusion The Retribution of Mara Dyer was already out and waiting for me to pick it up at the bookstore immediately. Talk about a major disappointment!
Anyway, pushing my crushed soul aside, I loved this book! And the cliffhanger....oh my. What a big and maddening one it was.
(SPOILER ALERT)
Noah...my poor Noah. If what Mara thinks is not true I shall forever grieve the loss of this fictional character.
(END SPOILER)
I am trying to remain optimistic for my sake so I choose believe that the last book will only bring about good things. Perhaps the death of a few hated characters included. It's cruel thing to think, but hey, these people aren't real so it's okay.
I won't say this book was better than the previous one because it wasn’t. Quite a few things annoyed me more in this book than the other. The biggest upside to this one was that it was more informational than the first.
And the Noah and Mara moments far outweighs those in The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer.
Now that it's all over I will sit here gnawing on my nails and theorizing about the next book to come until it finally happens. I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF THE LAST BOOK!
Rating: 4.5 Stars
