Metaphors We Live by by Mark Johnson, George Lakoff
5.0
I first picked this book up years ago and read just the first few chapters, particularly on orientational metaphors and ontological metaphors, and those chapters EXPLODED MY MIND so wide open that I didn't even feel the need to read the rest of the book. But I finally did and it was well worth it. I'd give this book maybe, truly, a 4.5 because it gets a bit repetitive and wordy in the second half, but I'm rounding up to 5 stars because it so profoundly changed how I hear what people say to me and how I imagine my world is built.
