Goodbye, Vitamin by Rachel Khong

emotional reflective sad fast-paced

4.0

I really enjoyed the format of this book - it reads like a year's worth of Ruth's diary as she returns home at 30 years old to help care for her father who has Alzheimer’s. It's a slice of life for one year and it may feel like we're just dropping in but I rather enjoyed it.  I usually don't love stream of consciousness type of writing but when it's presented like diary entries, it felt more authentic to me and I didn't mind it.  I thought this was an honest and refreshing novel and definitely now want to pick up Real Americans which has been on my TBR!
