The Color of Water: A Black Man's Tribute to His White Mother by James McBride

5.0

This book was recommended by a friend and on my to-read list. On a whim I stopped in a used book store and there it was. I started reading this book immediately and it was such a great book. Of course issues of race and culture are addressed but ultimately to methis book allows you to transcend that and read a story of a mothers sincere love for her children and one mans love for his mother and his siblings. I laughed, I cried and I laughed some more. A tremendously well written story, you truly learn the definition of what is family and what sincere love is.
