Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning
4.0
Bloodfever is book 2 in the fever series. I really enjoyed the first book and was excited to continue the series. While I did enjoy this book overall, Mac frustrated me. She continued to make questionable decisions while insisting that she knew more this time around, all while giving off the air of selfishness. There’s definitely been growth in her character but she seems to keep reverting. I do find the dynamic between Mac and Barrons to be fascinating and it keeps me engaged. However, in this book, I was most interested in V’Lane. As far as the plot went, this book felt like a typical book 2 in a trilogy - filler to set up the broader story arc. I still enjoyed it, and it kept my interest. However, I like the first book better. I read this via audiobook and still have a love/hate relationship with the narrator. The voices the narrator uses are applicable to the characters and their backgrounds; however, the accent for Mac irritates me.
