As per usual, I just love being told someone's life story and that is exactly what this book is. Much like Daisy Jones and the Six or My Body, The Woman in Me is a powerful story about growing up and finding peace in the intense and often shameful celebrity industry.
While hearing Britney Spears tell her story was enjoyable, I definitely think I would have gotten more out of the book had I known her history to begin with. Spears makes passing references to events that I didn't really have context for. That said, it was fascinating to hear about all the parts of her life from her perspective. The book takes several dramatic shifts throughout its pages, the most prominent being when the conservatorship begins. This last major section of the story is absolutely terrifying.
