Everybody Sees the Ants by A.S. King
3.0
A very clever book about bullying, this story centres on the character of Lucky Linderman, who is anything but lucky. Tormented by the same aggressively evil boy since he was seven years old, grade nine Lucky has reached a boiling point. Seeing everyone around him bow to the bully, including his parents, supposed friends and teachers, a single event finally catapults his mom to take him out of state for a couple of weeks. Told in various time frames, the experiences of Lucky are revealed through his dreams with his MIA Vietnam solider-grandfather and flashbacks.
