If you love historical fiction, you'll want to pick this one up! It brings us to 1978 Afghanistan and covers the events of a coup and then brings us to 2008 in another timeline where Sitara is now Aryana and a physician in NYC.  This is the story of loss and and resilience.  It's not an easy read but very compelling. The audiobook narration was wonderful, I breezed through this book in a few sittings because I kept listening and listening. This is the second book I've read by this author and I will definitely continue to read more!
