An actually new and intriguing twist on vampires? YES PLEASE. Without giving too much away, the world-building was fantastic, I loved Poppy so quickly, Hawke is my new book boyfriend, and for once I was actually invested in the secondary characters. The beginning of the book took a bit for me to understand what was going on, with a lot of terms for people and places being thrown around without any good explanation, but eventually, I caught on and it was all smooth sailing from there. So glad I picked this series up. I was in desperate need of some good supernatural spice after my SJM book hangover.
