The Treasure Hunters Club by Tom Ryan
4.0
Cozy books were never my thing at all; if I have to say, I hate them, but this book? It swept me away.
The Treasure Hunters Club is a cozy mystery with plenty of twists you will never see coming.
The story starts with a new opportunity for Peter, whose life is misery and full of failures, when he receives a weird letter from Mirabel Bellwoods, claiming she is his grandmother, whom he never knew existed, and she is inviting him to their family mansion in Maple Bay! She is 90, and he is last bellwoods, so there are family secrets they need to discuss.
and Cass who failed as a YA author, having the opportunity to house-set one of the houses at Maple Bay while thinking about an idea for a new book to only has her fate across with Maple Bay old secrets
and finally Dandy, a 17-year-old girl who was referred as gen z Nancy Drew ( my favorite character) who lived her whole life at Maple Bay and when a mystery is around, she can't keep her super instincts away
tbh, the title is a little bit misleading, as I expected a journey of treasure hunt but is more a clues and old secrets hints and stories hunt. The writing style is fabulous. I love when screenwriters know how to write a real book with the talent of making it a really good book. It was captivating, and from start to finish it was engaging. Can you believe it? A cozy book without a single second of anything boring?
The plot twists, and I mean, there are plenty of them till the last pages! Every plot was perfect except for one, which I personally think ruined the vibes for me, and that's why its a 4.5, not 5 stars.
This was a great read, Likeable characters, and i enjoyed my time with it. It was hard to put it down so i ignore my responsibilities for a few days to finish it. and thank you for making me planning to spend the rest of my day searching for books about treasures, pirates and family secrets.
