I really enjoyed this! The humor was acerbic, the commentary biting—I plowed through this book for sheer delight in Mary's narrative voice. Things definitely get intense: the misogyny is (intentionally) overwhelming at times, and there's a moment where a dog is killed that, while never too visually explicit, is revisited for a while after. I will say
the Furies made things a bit too deus ex machina-y for my tastes
, but honestly? More than anything, my reaction was, "Good for them!"
