An over reliance on descriptions: what she’s wearing, how her makeup is done, what every inconsequential character looks like in great detail, describing every room. At 250 pages it would have been better to devote that page real estate to world building and character development—both are practically nonexistent. What little world building exists is hastily thrown together while plot and character development are thin and rushed. 

I had high hopes as I thoroughly enjoyed two other works by this author.
