Experiments in Imagining Otherwise by Lola Olufemi

adventurous emotional hopeful mysterious fast-paced

5.0

Truly, a radical book. In a world where capitalist realism positions imagining any people-centred future as an act of theoretical speculation and inadvisable hopefulness instead of a deep human necessity, Lola Olufemi's written a book that is rigorous and up to the task of world-changing hope. The title is the mission statement. A collection of Experiments in Imagining social-political-economic-cultural realities that hold PEOPLE to be more important than PROFITS. I will be returning to this as an inspirational tool, a guideline, I'll be refuelling my people-centred political hopefulness tank from the chapters in this book. Can't recommend highly enough for anyone dreaming of a future beyond capitalism.
