This was okay, not great. I think when this was told to me as an “Enemies to Lovers, but really he was in love with her all along”, I was thinking I would have like it more than I did. I think the “Enemies to Lovers” element of the story took too long to happen in the story to my personal preference and the final act conflict was a miss for me. It didn’t feel like too big of a deal and I wasn’t that worried that Matthew wasn’t going to find a way out of it. In conclusion, this was a perfectly serviceable historical romance, just nothing that I’m going to re-read or recommend to anyone.
As a whole, I wouldn’t really recommend any of these books in this series; Kind of mediocre if I’m honest.
