Holidays on Ice is another one of those books I read every holiday season. David Sedaris knows how to make me feel everything. Santaland Diaries is a fantastic story as are most of the others, especially those that are semi-autobiographical. David Sedaris never ceases to impress. There is some stuff in here that hasn't aged wonderfully and a couple of the stories are fairly upsetting (David Sedaris is no less dark in this collection than in others), yet there is something comforting about hearing him talk about the holidays. Upon another reread in 2024, I have to say I really think Sedaris's nonfiction is better than his fiction for this reason.
