The Night Guest by Hildur Knutsdottir
This is a short horror novella that follows the main character Iðunn as she tries to figure out why she is so tired all the time. She knows something has to be wrong but every medical test comes back clear, sleeping pills don't help for long, and her fitness tracker is showing her walking thousands of steps each night that she has no recollection of.
As the story goes on we start to learn more about Iðunn life and what has led her to this point. We see how concerned her friends have gotten because of how tired she is and we see Iðunn trying and trying to figure out what she is doing at night.
Overall this story is one that is a really quick read. The ending is open which I found frustrating as I felt like there were several unanswered questions still. I will say that this is the perfect book to read during the spooky season because you can read it in a short amount of time and it will keep you entertained.
I would like to thank @viva.la.tbr for discussing this book with me so we could both figure out what we thought the ending was.
Tw: animal cruelty, mental health, and loss of sibling
