What an amazing book! I started reading it because I had nothing better to read at the time, and never thought I would finish it (both because of its huge volume and because the genre does not particularly attract me). However, this book has proved to be the most vivid, interesting and frank account of the recent history of the people of Europe. It's a book, which in my opinion, should be taught at schools all across Europe. It has certainly helped me understand who I am (as a citizen of Europe), where I (we) have come from, and where I am (we are) heading to...
