I think this is supposed to be a psychological thriller, but it just isn't thrilling enough to categorize as a thriller. Hysteria is full of mystery though, which is what drew me in. I just think it could have been written in a far creepier way. I wasn't impressed with the use of the "f" word so much in it, and most of the story was pretty predictable, but it was a quick, fun read. I do really like the cover.
