The detective went over the kinds of sexual assault victims he’s met. He referred the ones who “learn the lesson” and “buck up and move on” as the good ones. This was totally out of left field and while the character wasn’t supposed to be a shining example, it felt too much like the author projecting his own views onto his character. Just didn’t sit right with me.
