A Winter for Doves Part II: Book 1 of Project Suncloud by Nicholas J Ripley
5.0
I thought Part I was amazing, but Part II blew me away. The gore was on point, the battle was epic, the plot was addicting 👌🏼
I was more emotionally involved with this one 🖤 There’s a lot of character growth (especially Aylen) and you get to know each character on a deeper level, both Deviants and Saints. When you feel a part of the story yourself, it opens the door for the characters’ feelings and emotions to rub off on you. I enjoyed seeing the progression of the various relationships (and the end of others - 🖕🏽Morgan). Jared and Aylen and how they left things…I felt that HARD 😭 And as conniving as Eric is, his scenes were always entertaining, if not shocking. That ending!! How long until book 3??? 😅
I read A Winter for Doves on KU, but had to snag physical copies - these books are not only shelf-worthy, but I see myself reading them again and again in future. Highly recommend if you’re into gory, dystopian horror with a splash of romance (level 2 spice) 🤘🏻
