The Dog of the North by Elizabeth McKenzie
3.0
I read a review that described this as "zany and fun," but I guess we're allowed to have differences of opinion about what's funny. A woman with painful social anxieties struggles to deal with truly disturbed relatives, and comes within a hair of developing sepsis from a neglected stab wound. I kept hoping something positive would happen to her, but the closest she got to that was the absence of immediate catastrophes. The book felt like an invitation to heartburn to me.
