The Family Tree by Sairish Hussain

This was heartfelt and gut-wrenching! Definitely left me in tears at some points. It reminded me a lot of A Place For Us by Fatima Farheen Mirza.

I liked the changing POVs and how the various struggles the characters endured tested their faith in each other. I also liked that they found solace with Allah (SWT) during times of hardship.

By the grace of Allah (SWT), I haven't faced loss in the way these characters did but reading their experiences made me immensely thankful for all of my loved ones. In our worldly pursuits, sometimes we lose track of what really matters: faith, family, and the friends that become family.

4/5 stars; I just think some parts needed more attention than others. Some parts seemed anti-climactic, as well, despite the long-awaited build-up. Other than that, this was good!
