I recommend this book if you like:
-steamy romance
-musicians/music references
-multiple POV
I absolutely loved the fact that each chapter was linked with a song; they really helped express the characters emotions and related well to events that were happening. Some of my favourite song mentions that popped up were: Bitter Love - Pia Mia, Back to You - Selena Gomez and Praying - Kesha.
There are some trigger warnings to add: domestic violence, alcohol addiction and blackmail.
Rosie and Cillian are childhood friends. They both love each other from afar. Cillian doesn't believe he is worthy of being with Rosie as he has his own demons to deal with (no thanks to a dodgy dad who is in prison). Cillian is part of a band and writes and performs music globally, he is also a bit of a player. Rosie's brother (also in the band) has good reason to warn Cillian off dating his sister.
I felt sad for them both at the beginning as they wanted to be together but both had reasons to stay away. I was wanting them both to be honest with one another so they could at least know what the other was thinking!
Thankfully they both get their act together and their romance is unmatched, you really can tell they are meant to be.
Unfortunately, situations spiral out of their control and Rosie has to make the biggest sacrifice for love.
I really wanted Rosie to tell Cillian why she was marrying Sean. I'm glad she did eventually but it was nearly too late! I'm stoked with the ending, the only thing I would have liked added in was him giving her the engagement ring he had made years prior. How romantic! (I presume she got it eventually.)
This story, by all means, does not portray the perfect romance. It is more realistic involving life struggles and hurdles to overcome. Is love enough? I guess you'll have to read it to find out.
