This book was incredible. I enjoyed it from the first title chapter to the end of the acknowledgements! High Sticking the Heart is the first Hockey novel I've read and honestly I get it now.

High Sticking the Heart is about our FMC Ariella, who has finally moved away from her loving but slightly overbearing family and is determined to make it on her own miles away in a male dominated field. Ariella doesn't take crap from anyone and knows she's damn good at her job. The weekend before starting her new job as the strength and conditioning coach of the NHL team in Dallas, her cousin finally convinces her to go out. Where she runs into a handsome stranger who asks for her help in pretending to be his dare to avoid his ex-girlfriend. Ari is 2 seconds from telling him about girl code until, the other cardinal rule is enacted. "Girl code doesn't count if you're a...c u next Tuesday." As they enjoy the rest of their night with no personal info exchanged Ari is sure she'll never see this handsome stranger again and therefore her plan of not being distracted while doing her job is still perfectly in tact.

At least until she meets the team and Mr handsome is there. Turns out not only is he on the team and team captain, his father owns the team and isn't her biggest fan. Due to strict personnel rules, Ari and Dalton pretend to date so that they can both keep their jobs. Everything's fine until the line between real and fake get blurry, and Ari realizes what she thought was fatherly protectiveness may not be so... concerned.

Filled with plenty of laughs, spicy times, loads of banter between all characters, and badass MC's who stand up for themselves and those they care about, High Sticking the Heart is perfect if you're looking for a new sports rom com or just a book that'll make you smile.

I received an ARC and leaving a review of my own volition.
