Bloom by Elizabeth Scott

4.0

I have to admit that after some of the reviews I read about this story I was almost apprehensive to read it. I feared it would sorely disappoint. But I am happy to report it did nothing of the sort. In fact I couldn't put this book down until I finished it completely.

I will admit that there were some things Lauren did that I do not support, like cheating on her boyfriend and leading him on. And the way she treated her best friend at times. However, she redeemed herself afterward. In the end she did the right thing. She made amends for her actions. Most people don't even do that. She even offered to help Katie (her best friend) out with her problems plenty of times throughout the book and she rejected the help. She did try.

I also felt especially sorry for Lauren when reading about her mother. I even found myself getting teary eyed at some parts of it. Elizabeth Scott did a great job of making me sympathize with her character. That is called good writing.

I will be looking out for more of her books.
