Daughter of Time by Sarah Woodbury
3.0
This book was better that I thought it would be. I'd pre-judged it by the fact that it was a freebie plus I though the cover looked a little mass market and slushy. I was pleased to be proved wrong though.
The story was well paced and a good amount of historical information about the characters and no slushiness which was good. A bit of action but not excessively. The focus was mainly on the characters.
The ending was a bit something of nothing though and left me a little disappointed especially with unanswered questions regarding the time travel element...but maybe that will be explained later books in the series. I may get round to reading another in the series but it didn't grab me enough to make me rush to read the next and there are plenty of other books on my list I need to get on and read.
In summary I thought it was an entertaining story, well paced and well written but I felt it was missing that something which would make me want to read the next in the series.
