The story develops at the perfect pace and scenes don’t drag on. Alice Reed, the author, has told this story extremely well. I loved it from the start, the scandal had me hooked and I devoured the remainder of the book as I couldn’t wait to see where Liam and Emelia would end up!

This book has a brilliant Australian setting which I love and complex yet interesting main characters. Liam is an up and coming actor and Emelia is an already established actress. The two knew each other from school and have a romantic history. The two cross paths again due to their careers and lifestyles.

Emelia has been through a lot since she last saw Liam and she hasn’t got the same dreamy and optimistic outlook that she once had. A scandal which could effect her whole career may have something to do with that.

Liam is still besotted by beautiful Emelia and his luck may change when they both land star roles in an up and coming movie.

Their bond is clear to see and it is lovely to read. Especially as Liam is quite sentimental and kept some of Emelia’s things from their high school romance.

Emelia has to push past her demons and try to rediscover her self-worth. It is the only way she can let perfect Liam in.

Alice Reed has written a great first book and I cannot wait to read her next instalment!
