Finished this in one hour and it felt like a fever dream. I think this may be the first book where I enjoyed the movie more? But I appreciate both. The movie was always a childhood classic and when I found out that it was based on a children's book, I instantly purchased it. However, the film's writers deeeefinitely took some creative liberties with the movie as the two are nearly unrelatable, other than their central themes for the most part. Peace is peace. Still enjoyed the Iron Giant and his battle against the space dragon, though. 3.5/5 stars.

Also, just connected the two dots that Ted Hughes, the writer that spawned one of the BEST children's films, was married to THE Sylvia Plath. Amazing.
