Winter by Marissa Meyer
5.0
That book was one hell of a finale, and even though it was 800+ pages, some how it never felt like it. I flew through every book I've read, even faster than my normal pace due to being so engrossed to the story, world, and characters that Meyer created. Princess Winter was such an interesting addition character wise. Bat-sh** crazy, and yet not completely broken. There were so many layers to her, as with the older leading ladies.
Meyer impressed me with each woman she wrote. I love how each of them is strong, but have their weaknesses or insecurities. How they struggle, but understand what is at stake. They don't just miraculously overcome their problems like in many other stories, but they push it back when necessary, dealing with it tenfold later. It helps connect the reader to them, as they don't come off superheroes whom easily overcome everything.
By the end of this book I had a huge grin on my face and maybe some tears of joy, but we don't need to have that confirmed. I only have the short story collection left to read, but Winter is another 5/5 for this series. Lunar Chronicles is now one of my favorite book series period.
