I loved Legends & Lattes. I just loved it. It struck the perfect balance between Dungeons & Dragons magic and warm coffeeshop contentment, delivering (and I hate to use this word, but there's no better descriptor) a truly cozy book about friendship, new beginnings, and the power of believing in oneself. If I had one complaint, it would be that bioessentialism plays a pretty big portion in this novel. That's basically par for the course with most D&D media, and I appreciated that Baldree built the narrative around breaking out of a bioessentialist mold, but if that's something you're very averse to, this might not be for you. The characters in this were unique and lovable, and Baldree really masterfully wove this tale of community and the work it can take to build it (while also illustrating exactly why it is so worth the work). The sapphic romance was a lovely touch and done with such a delicate, tender hand. I'm so happy I picked this up, and I highly anticipate a reread this year.
