A Princess of Landover by Terry Brooks
3.0
This was rather disappointing in terms of my beloved Landover series. I've always thought of this series as rather whimsical, with a great heart, good adventure, and some fun politics thrown in and whirled together. This book is just rather blah. I think every since Brooks started making stories about the Princess rather than Ben and Willow, they just haven't been as interesting. This follows suit.
Basically the spoiled brat Princess gets herself thrown out of prep school here in our world. She returns home, where she embarks on a silly and far too drawn out journey, to end up where her parents wanted her to anyway, the Libris.
While there she, of course, discovers adventure and true love. But neither the adventure or the true love was very interesting and entertaining. And I'm not sure I'm okay with a Landover book that doesn't have one single scene from the Paladin and only uses Ben and Willow as bookends.
I'm glad I read it, but it won't be an addition to my collection.
