This was the book I needed after a strong of just meh romances and it rekindled my love of pure fantasy adventure. This was my first book by Chakraborty and I can't wait to read City of Brass. Amina is a total badass and I want to be her. I loved the amount of research that as put into this book and the Authors Note explaining her approach and some of the works she referenced; I wish more books did this honestly. I also really loved the unreliable narrator touch and the reference to Moby Dick with it. Overall, I can't recommend this book enough.
