A sword and planet pulp piece, in the vein of Gor, Barsoom, Kaldar, etc. While I have a fondness for the genre as a whole, this was a pretty weak entry. Which is especially disappointing since the initial book in the Llarn series was pretty engaging. For all its brevity, there's a lot of subplot and story threads here that feel pretty extraneous.
