The Fear Zone by K.R. Alexander
4.0
I read this one because one of my kids read it and thought I would like it and asked me to read it too. I'm not adverse to reading YA (or even younger) books so I gave it a try. A girl finds a creepy note in her locker saying she needed to go to the graveyard by midnight. Her friend talks her into doing it. There they run into 3 other people who together dig up something in a grave. After that, they all start having horrible nightmares and become haunted by their worst fears. As the nightmares become more and more painfully real they realize they must band together against the horror they unleashed or they will all die.
Trying a little too hard to give off IT vibes (I mean, just look at the cover at) without managing to quite capture the depth of friendship it was probably going for. It wasn't horrible though, and if my kid wants/gets the sequel I'll probably read it.
