LIE LIKE THE DEVIL by Birgitte Märgen, Birgitte Märgen

4.0

Lie Like the Devil by Birgitte Märgen is a wild mix of true crime vibes and historical horror—well-written, too. This psychological thriller follows Detective Martina and her partner, Neil, as they chase down a brutal serial killer with a Puritan obsession, leaving Bible verses specifically from the Geneva Bible on his victims.

The story shifts between modern-day Boston and the dark days of the 1600s, blending detective work with a gripping, twisted mystery. The historical elements added depth, and I enjoyed learning a few new things along the way, making it an even more fascinating read.

If you’re into thrillers with a historical edge and jaw-dropping crime scenes, this one’s a must-read!

A big thank you to the author for the copy.
