To Sir Phillip, With Love by Julia Quinn

3.0

One of my least favourite Bridgestone books. Maybe because in the TV show Eloise knows what she wants and doesn’t compromise. And she’s the most feminist of the characters. I think Julia Quinn mustn’t like Eloise, because she’s ended up with the least feminist husband. He didn’t seem to have many redeeming qualities. In this one it seems The author wants to tackle some issues so we have child abuse, post-partum depression and suicide. A tough ask of a light-hearted regency romp. But I really didn’t like Sir Phillip and so was hard to actually want the two characters to end up together. And what is it with the male characters being afraid of being in love. This is the second one who didn’t want to fall in love.
