DNFing. I can deal with a Mary Sue… but I can NOT handle an emotionally immature main character. No amount of past trauma can make me put up with someone so insufferable. Author took a risk giving us so much internal dialogue and it did not pay off— made her seem really juvenile, and made the romance feel way too forced.
