Heartbreaker by De'nesha Diamond

3.0

The first 2 stories were the best, with Erick S. Gray's outshining the other. De'nesha Diamond, Erick S. Gray, and Nichelle Walker come together to give readers 3 short stories about 3 of the most unforgettable women I could possibly imagine. I appreciate Diamond's contribution to the Heartbreaker collection because I believe she really stuck to the short story format. Gray's "Put 'Em in Their Place" seemed more like an excerpt and Walker's "Kandy Girlz" seemed like a summary as opposed to a short story. Each author does a fairly good job at keeping readers entertained and on the edge of their seats. If you're looking for a glimpse into urban fiction, I'd recommend Heartbreaker, but if you're looking for a well written full-length street lit novel, then maybe this isn't for you.
