I really wanted to like this book – and indeed, there were places where I laughed out loud, or felt honoured to listen to the reflections of Grace Lavery's transsexuality – but it's content felt so disjointed, squirreling off into tangents I really did not follow or understand. The pop culture references flew over my head (though that is a personal fault) and largely, for me, added nothing but confusion.
