The entire time I was reading this I was just "this would make a wonderful limited series show and I want it now."
Anti-fascist lesbians, Librarians save people because duh, New "Old West" vibe in post dystopian United States. Diverse as fuck.
I loved this book. I loved seeing Esther coming to accept herself and learning that she can do hard things. This book is about survival, finding something to fight for, and discovering you're not alone even in dark times.
It does hit really close to home as a queer person living in the US, so there were times I was like...yeah, I can see the real life inspiration here. And I LOVED IT MORE because of that.
