The Bad Things We Did by Chris Archeske
5.0
Okay, listen, I've been an emotional wreck for the past week. That might be important, it might not, you be the judge. BUT...I've been reading The Bad Things We Did by Chris Archeske and as I was ugly crying at 10pm on a random Saturday because of "Mercy at the End of Her Life" I was feeling personally attacked. (Not really, but still.....)
I finished this little gem up tonight and I recommend it greatly. From the horrific whimsy of "The Parachute", the unexpected turn that "Monstrous" took, and the "why do you hate me" tears that "Mercy at the End of Her Life" snatched out of me, I have to say that this is one of (if not the best of) collections I've read this year. (And I've read about 21 different collections and anthologies this year)
